  13.                                    │     Procomm for  windows  takes up
  14.                                    │  about   4mb   and   is  expensive
  15.    I  started  off  with software  │  compared  to  shareware programs,
  16. that  came  with  modem,  I could  │  but I personaly  think it is well
  17. rarely get that to  work.  I then  │  worth it.  I  run it on a 486-DX-
  18. used  Telix,  and  found  it  was  │  33,   with    a    cheap   Cirrus
  19. great as  a simple  comm package,  │  accelerator and 4mb  RAM.  I have
  20. it had several features that were  │  been told it  runs a bit sluggish
  21. very  handy.    I  then  used the  │  on  slower  machines,  but  works
  22. public  domain  demo  version  of  │  fine on  mine.   Procomm has many
  23.

  25. many features and options:         │  use  the  menus  much  but  those
  26.                                    │  windows icons sure come in handy,
  27. Termianl emulations: heaps.        │  making  it  easy  to  get  up and
  28. Keyboard   mapping:      assorted  │  running.

  31. protocols:   zmodem,  y,x, kermit  │  you can  scroll  up  and  look at

  33. macro language:   very extensive,  │  or long file listings.

  35. setup your own bbs's, based on C,  │  configure the  mouse so  that you
  36. easy to  set up  automatic logins  │  can double click on a word on the
  37. to hosts.                          │  screen and it will send (type the
  38. Meta keys:  buttons on the screen  │  word in)  for you.   One  of it's

  59. Qmodem allows you.  Procomm comes  │  you   would   expect   a  windows
  60. with some of  its own fonts which  │  program to  have, and  all that a
